Yoga Nidra means yogic sleep. This deeply restful and restorative practice has ancient roots in the Yoga Tradition and yet is perfect for helping us to unplug from the distraction, busyness and stress of living in our modern world. Using breath awareness, body sensing and guided meditation you will journey through the layers of your being to the deepest levels of consciousness - the bliss body. This practice is powerful in relieving stress, creating a deeply relaxed state, increasing focus of mind, igniting creativity as well as releasing deeply-held emotional blocks and negative patterns of thought and belief, clearing space for new more positive patterns to take hold. No yoga experience is necessary.

Step out of the busyness and distraction of your daily life and nourish your soul with a weekend of yoga, mindfulness, self-inquiry and self-nurturing. Explore practices to help quiet your mind, open your heart and find your relaxed, joyful presence. You’ll leave refreshed and rejuvenated, with a number of practices to help you live with more presence, resilience and joy and your own plan to feed your soul.

It's not always possible to travel to some exotic location for retreat, so we're happy to offer this affordable, local retreat right here in Chelmsford.

Join us at Dance New England in North Chelmsford, (map) where we will explore yogic practices such asana( postures & physical practice), pranayama(breath and energy work), mantra (numinous sound, chant),  mudras(hand postures) and yoga nidra (yogic sleep, deep relaxation) as well as mindfulness, meditation, journal writing and practicing yoga off the mat.

yoga practice will be in the kripalu tradition, a gentle, meditative style of yoga, and will be appropriate for students all levels.
