Metta Meditation: Widening Our Circles of Compassion

We can widen our circle of compassion with Metta Meditation. Metta is a Pali word that means 'clear-seeing, unconditional kindness, friendliness or love. We can train our hearts and minds to be more compassionate and kind.  Metta Meditation is like yoga for the heart - a way to stretch and strengthen our hearts ~ our capacity to feel compassion and empathy for ourselves and others.

Guided Meditation with Labeling and Letting Go

This practice of labeling and letting go offers an opportunity to gain insight into habits and patterns of thought and distraction.

Meditation on the Body

Our home practice this week will be a guided body sensing meditation. You'll want to set aside about 20 minute and find a quiet, comfortable place to meditate where you will not be disturbed. Perhaps let family members know you will be meditating, close the door and turn off your phone. This somatic meditation will be done lying down, so you'll need a yoga mat and/or a blanket and any pillows or cushions that will help you to be relaxed and comfortable. Enjoy!
